The dentures worn by the patient (Tiede Hansen) were approx. 30 years old and did not meet modern standards of esthetics or function.
During the live patient case at MC Zahntechnik in Oldenburg, Germany, each participant created a denture setup for this patient under the guidance of Viktor Fürgut. VITA PHYSIODENS teeth were used. The dental technicians put the technique developed by Dr. Eugen End into practice - BIOLogical prosthetics.
Tiede Hansen was available for wax try-ins for all setups. Each try-in was documented using photos. The additional effort required in terms of time was interesting and exciting for the patient.
It was also interesting for the participants to follow the progress: "What will my setup look like in the patient's mouth?" They were provided with direct feedback from the patient . . .
. . . and were able to implement small corrections immediately.
It was very difficult for the patient to choose one set of dentures. He and his wife liked all seven setups.
Laboratory manager Björn Czappa spontaneously decided that all setups should be fabricated and presented to the patient as a gift. A very generous decision!
No sooner said than done. The setups were fabricated using the custom packing technique, which the participants had learned during the esthetics course led by Viktor Fürgut.
The individual dentures were documented using photographs.
A new smile for every day of the week. Tiede Hansen was delighted with the results.
To the great surprise of the patient, Björn Czappa handed him a glass case designed especially for the 7 sets of dentures. A box for every day of the week containing a different set of dentures. It was a wonderful surprise. The patient and his wife were delighted.
