<p>What is VITA VIONIC® BOND or VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose?</p>

VITA VIONIC® BOND or VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose are components of VITA VIONIC® SOLUTIONS, the system for the digitally supported removable dentures from VITA Zahnfabrik.

<p>What software prerequisites apply when using VITA VIONIC (DIGITAL) VIGO?</p>

Denture Module with a valid license for either the 3Shape Dental System (Version 2021 or newer) or exocad Dental CAD (version 3.1 Reijka or newer).

<p>Are different tooth lines required for the various setup concepts?</p>

All seven setup concepts can be achieved with one and the same tooth line, VITA VIONIC (DIGITAL) VIGO. You do not need different tooth lines for the various setup concepts.

The reason for this is the universal design of the occlusal surfaces of VITA VIONIC posterior teeth. These allow all the setup concepts mentioned to be achieved.

<p>How do the VITA VIONIC VIGO Library and the VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO Denture Tooth Library differ from other libraries?</p>

Includes the largest number of setup concepts (seven). Universal occlusal surface geometry: one tooth line for all setups. Combination of anterior and posterior teeth (no fixed 28-tooth setups); individualization of the setup still possible. VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO: Possible to work with VITA VIONIC VIGO denture teeth, as well as milled / 3D-printed teeth. Open system: VIONIC (DIGITAL) VIGO can also be used with milling blanks or with 3D-print materials from competitor companies.

<p>What bonding gap settings are recommended for combination with printed or milled teeth?</p>

Material combinations Recommended bonding gap
Printed denture base and printed denture teeth made from VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN 150µm
Printed denture base and milled teeth made from VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor 150µm

<p>Once purchased, can the license for the VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO Denture Tooth Library be transferred?</p>

No, activation is only applicable for the specific respective USB connector that has been activated or for the specific software usage license associated with it.

<p>What license models are available for VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO?</p>

Only a one-time payment for use at any time, as long as a valid license is available for the 3Shape Denture Module or the exocad FullDenture module. VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO is activated for a specific USB connector / software license and cannot be transferred.

The VITA VIONIC VIGO Denture Tooth Library (without the option to export tooth data) can be downloaded free of charge and used without any additional steps.

<p>How can I purchase VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO and start using it? (Also applies if the VITA VIONIC VIGO Denture Tooth Library that is free to download has already been used up to now.)</p>

  1. Order VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO through the VITA website.
  2. Complete payment.
  3. Activate the VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO Denture Tooth Library via the partner software company (3Shape or exocad).
  4. Update the VITA VIONIC VIGO Denture Tooth Library for the activated USB connector through the download portal (3Shape) or website (exocad).
  5. If required, restart the 3Shape Dental System or exocad Dental DB.

VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO is now available for use.

<p>What is the difference between the two products VITA VIONIC® BOND KIT and VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose?</p>

The adhesive is the same, only the dosage type is different.

  • VITA VIONIC® BOND KIT is a single-use application that contains enough material to bond approx. 28 denture teeth. The components come pre-measured and do not need to be dosed.
  • VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose is designed for multiple applications. The components have to be dosed by the user with the measuring cup. It contains enough material to bond approx. 25 x 14 denture teeth to the respective denture bases.

All other processing and mechanical/physical properties of the adhesive are identical.

<p>What setup concepts are included in the Denture Tooth Library?</p>

Of the tooth libraries currently on the market, VITA VIONIC (DIGITAL) VIGO contains the largest selection of 28-tooth setup concepts, a total of seven concepts. These are:

  • Setups with "curved" posterior arches (second molar, distal to oral rotation / curved setup): lingualized, buccalized, crossbite, Prof. Gerber setup.
  • Setups with linear posterior tooth setup (central fissures for all posterior teeth run in a line; "straight setup"): lingualized, buccalized, Dutch LoC (similar to a lingualized setup, but the first premolar only has one contact point at the mesial-proximal ridge).

<p>Can a unilateral crossbite be achieved using VITA VIONIC (DIGITAL) VIGO?</p>

This is possible in 3Shape and exocad, however, a configuration file must be modified. VITA or exocad can provide support for that.

<p>What devices have been validated for use with VITA VIONIC BASE RESIN FLEX?</p>

VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor is available in 18 shades – 16 VITA classical A1-D4® shades (A1, A2, A3, A3.5, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4, C1, C2, C3, C4, D2, D3, D4) and two Bleached shades (0 M1, 0 M3).

Materialverluste beim Abtropfen entstehen.

<p>What sizes are available for VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor?</p>

VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor is available with a diameter of 98.4 mm and a disc height of 20 mm (universal geometry with circumferential shoulder).

<p>Is VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor part of a closed processing system, or is it suitable for use with open systems?</p>

VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor is suitable for all open systems with a universal disc holder.

We recommend a combination of VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor and VITA VIONIC BASE DISC HI, together with VITA VIONIC BOND adhesive.

<p>How many layers does a VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor disc contain?</p>

Each VITA VIONIC DENT DISC multiColor disc, is a genuine multilayer disc comprising four layers that are perfectly adapted to one another.

<p>How do VITA VIONIC® BOND and VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose cure?</p>

VITA VIONIC® BOND and VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose are self-curing. The curing process begins as soon as the two components of the adhesive come into contact with each other. At an ambient temperature of approx. 21 °C (70 °F), the working time is approx. 10 minutes. If the adhesive begins to gel or form threads, discontinue use.

<p>What are the design recommendations for VITA VIONIC BASE RESIN FLEX?</p>

The material thickness determines the flexibility of the partial denture. The finer the clamp design, the more flexible it reacts, while a stronger design provides more stability.

  • Clamps: Ideally 1-1.5 mm
  • Minimum wall thickness of tooth pockets: 0.8-1 mm
  • Bonding gap for teeth: 150µm
  • Palatal: 2-3 mm
  • Sublingual: 3-5 mm

<p>What is the chemical composition of VITA VIONIC® BOND and VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose?</p>

<p>What is the shelf life of VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose after opening?</p>

If stored correctly (closed tightly at a temperature between 5 °C and 10 °C, that is, 41 °F and 50 °F), it should be used within 90 days of opening.

<p>How should VITA VIONIC® BOND or VITA VIONIC® BOND multiDose be stored?</p>

Always store it tightly closed in the refrigerator between 5 °C (41 °F) and 10 °C (50 °F). Protect from direct sunlight.

<p>What does impact resistance mean?</p>

Fracture work values indicate how well a component/material can absorb shocks and impacts (impact energy).

By taking measurements, you can find out at what load the material breaks or starts to give.

The impact strength measurements can be used to draw conclusions about the durability of denture bases, for example.

An impact-resistant denture base material reduces the risk of breakage but does not eliminate it (impact-resistant ≠ unbreakable).

The breaking strength in the event of a fall is highly dependent on the angle of impact and the impact surface. An unfortunate angle and a hard surface will increase the chances of the dentures breaking. This applies to all material types.

<p>What is the difference between the VITA VIONIC VIGO Denture Tooth Library that is free to download and the fee-based VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO Denture Tooth Library?</p>

The VITA VIONIC VIGO Denture Tooth Library that is free to download only allows monoblock try-ins and denture bases to be exported. The tooth data cannot be exported. This means that denture teeth cannot be milled or printed using 3D systems (only the try-in dentures and the denture bases). The denture bases that have been milled or printed using 3D systems are completed with VITA VIONIC VIGO denture teeth.

In addition to allowing VITA VIONIC VIGO denture teeth to be used, the fee-based VITA VIONIC DIGITAL VIGO Denture Tooth Library also allows the tooth data to be exported so that the denture teeth can be milled or printed using 3D systems.

<p>What are the recommendations for cleaning?</p>

The cleaning process is carried out by dental laboratories/dental practices in an ultrasonic bath (room temperature water bath). Do not use heat-based disinfection or sterilization methods. This could cause the denture to lose its shape.

Brief immersion disinfection is possible without any problems, provided that ethanol-based disinfectants are not used.

For daily cleaning of the dentures, the patient should use lukewarm water, a soft toothbrush, liquid soap or dishwashing liquid. Rinse well afterwards. Denture cleaning tablets can be used according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Notes: Do not use toothpaste, as the abrasive particles are coarse and will scratch the dentures. Do not use acids or solvents, as these will deteriorate the material properties when applied.

<p>Can soft liner be applied to a printed denture made of VITA VIONIC BASE RESIN IMPACT?</p>

Yes, the following soft relining materials have been tested:

  • LabSide: Molloplast® B
  • Chairside: Mollosil® plus

<p>Which UV filter should be used to cure VITA AKZENT LC customized prostheses in the Otoflash G171 N2?</p>

The Otoflash G171 N2 has been validated for VITA AKZENT LC with a UV filter type 280 N2. This filter transmits wavelengths from 280 to 700 nm.

<p>What advantages does the adhesive have over comparable competitor systems?</p>

  • A simple, clean bonding process.
  • Proven good adhesion, tested according to ISO 22112 and DIN ISO/TS 19736.
  • The precise fit of the denture teeth with the denture base is maintained, meaning that little to no manual reworking is required (e.g., little to no adjustment of the occlusion).

<p>Can printed dentures be relined or repaired?</p>

Yes, printed denture bases made of VITA VIONIC BASE RESIN IMPACT can be relined/repaired.

1)     Roughen the surface
2)     Apply cold-curing polymer (e.g., Schütz Dental Futura Gen pink opaque or Paladur rosa/pink)

<p><span>What do I have to consider with regard to the components to be bonded?</span></p>

The components to be bonded (denture teeth, denture base) have to fit together precisely, as VIONIC® BOND does not fill gaps.

For the specification in the design software (Denture Module from 3Shape A/S or exocad GmbH), we recommend:

  • For milled denture bases in combination with VITA VIONIC VIGO® prefabricated tooth: 40 µm bonding gap.

  • For milled denture bases in combination with milled denture tooth elements made of VITA VIONIC® DENT DISC multiColor: 80 µm bonding gap.
  • Larger gaps may be necessary for 3D-printed denture bases.

Tip: The denture tooth elements should fit into the corresponding alveoli of the denture base without force, but at the same time, they should also not have any noticeable play.

The bonding surfaces of the components must be dry and free of dust, grease, wax, cooling lubricants and other contaminants.

<p>How many denture bases can I print from 1 kg of denture base resin?</p>

Approx. 50 denture bases can be printed from 1 kg of VITA VIONIC BASE RESIN IMPACT.

The actual number of printed objects that can be produced using 1kg of resin depends on several factors, such as the number of support structures, whether the resin is stored in the print tray or whether material is lost when it drips off.

<p>How many try-ins can I print from 1 kg of resin?</p>

Approx. 28 monoblocks or 60 try-ins (single jaw) can be printed from 1 kg of VITA VIONIC TRY-IN RESIN.

The actual number of printed objects that can be produced using 1kg of resin depends on several factors, such as the number of support structures, whether the resin is stored in the print tray or whether material is lost when it drips off.

<p>Bubble formation occurs when the denture base is cured together with the teeth in a vacuum post-curing device. How can this be avoided?</p>

VITA recommends the following procedure for vacuum-based, validated devices (such as the Asiga Cure or RapidShape Cure):

Step 1:

Secure the printed teeth in the denture base using a light-curing UV hand lamp, provided that you are using the printing material as an adhesive. It is sufficient to irradiate the areas between the tooth and the base for a few seconds.

Step 2:

Complete curing in the device using the VITA template.

<p>Can a clasp denture printed from VITA VIONIC BASE RESIN FLEX be repaired/extended?</p>

Yes, printed clasp dentures made from VITA VIONIC BASE RESIN FLEX can be repaired and extended.

VITA recommends the following materials and procedures for this purpose:

  • For the shade pink translucent: Astron Labtec Pro
  • For the shade clear: Astron Clearsplint
  1. Sandblasting with Al2O3 (50 µm, 2 bar)
  2. Application of VITA VM LC Primer II to condition the denture base.
  3. Apply a thin, even layer using a disposable brush. Then cure with an approved light-curing device in accordance with the polymerization instructions for VITA VM LC Primer II.
  4. Application and processing of Astron Clearsplint or Astron Labtec Pro according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Repairs using classic cold polymer are also possible in principle. However, the rigid material can impair the flexibility of the partial denture, thereby reducing the expected service life of the denture.

<p>Can the resin in the tray be stored?</p>

Yes, the resin can be stored in the tray temporarily between two printing jobs. It must be protected from light and stored at room temperature (14 – 28°C). Before each new print, ensure that no fragments from previous printing jobs have been left in the resin. If in doubt, the resin should be filtered through a fine sieve before reusing. It is also important to homogenize the resin in the tray before starting a new printing job. Here, a silicone spatula is used to mix the resin thoroughly in the tray.

Shade reproduction

Shade reproduction

<p>How can I speed up the process of achieving the optimum match to the VITA shade guide?</p>

The photoinitiators in the resin react in the post-curing units during the curing process, and in the case of VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN, leave behind a yellow tint. This yellow tint will disappear on its own within a few days after curing. However, this process can also be accelerated artificially. This is especially true for lighter shades (0M3, A1 and B1), where the shade match can be visibly achieved faster due to the acceleration of the color drift.

Here, VITA recommends:

Option 1:

After the final polish, place the printed dentures under an LED lamp with a blue light for approx. three hours (wavelength 450-480 nm).

The following device can be used as example:

Option 2:

Alternatively, after the final polishing, you can place the printed denture in a heating cabinet or oven at 60°C for approx. 5 h.

Due to the technology used, all printed materials cannot achieve the final shade immediately after curing. This recommendation from VITA offers users a way of accelerating color drift. Blue light treatment is optional and is not a necessary step in the workflow.
