About the person
Dental technician Viktor Fürgut (Ravensburg, Germany) has many years of experience. Since 1983, he has served as head of the department of complete and partial prosthetics at the Götsch dental laboratory. He has also been a lecturer and course instructor at national and international conferences since 1995. He specializes in esthetic anterior tooth setup, the function of lateral teeth and lifelike design of artificial gums. His proprietary, tried-and-tested set of tools for partial and complete prosthetics are a testament to his constant striving for optimum dental technology.
What criteria does a modern dental prosthesis have to meet from your point of view?
A dental prosthesis has to meet the increased esthetic needs of patients. This is especially true for implant-supported, removable dentures, which are increasingly used. In general, a prosthesis should not be perceived as such, and should feel natural in the patient's mouth.
What do you think of the shape of VITAPAN EXCELL dental prosthesis?
You could say that VITAPAN EXCELL has two shapes, a technical one and an anatomical one. Once incorporated into a prosthesis, only the anatomical one remains three-dimensionally visible. That would not be possible without the fluid transition between the crown and neck of the tooth, the corporeality and the perfectly designed proximal contacts.
How would you assess the shade accuracy of the VITAPAN EXCELL with respect to the shade guide?
The VITAPAN EXCELL matches the shade guide 100 percent. That's absolutely essential for a ready-made tooth. It's the only way to ensure that the dentist and dental technician are communicating correctly with regard to shades.
For which indications do you prefer the VITAPAN EXCELL?
I don't think there's an indication for which the VITAPAN EXCELL cannot be used. In my opinion, it is universally suitable for full dentures and all kinds of partial prostheses.
What do you like most about VITAPAN EXCELL molds?
VITAPAN EXCELL molds complement the VITA tooth product lines. It is easy to see that the shape of these anterior tooth sets can also be found in natural dentition.
What can you tell us about the play of color and light with VITAPAN EXCELL?
Thanks to lifelike labial surfaces, once incorporated, VITAPAN EXCELL creates an extremely realistic overall effect, especially in the patient's mouth. As with natural teeth, an interesting play of color and light can be seen once they are integrated. This tooth allows you to highlight your esthetic expertise.
