Patient case
Anterior tooth veneer and crowns with minimally invasive preparation, fabricated with VITAVM®13
Initial situation: This young woman did not think her smile was aesthetically pleasing. The gaps and irregular positioning of her teeth bothered her. During a consultation between dentist, patient and the lab, it was jointly decided to fabricate a minimally invasive preparation of the veneers and crowns.
Initial situation
Information on the shade of the prepared tooth is important for the layers of ceramic on thin tooth restorations.
Fabricating the master model
Fixation in the articulator and subsequent fabrication of the heat-resistant stumps.
Fabrication of a wax-up for an exact definition of the form.
For improved documentation and communication with the patient, a wax-up was fabricated and tested as a mock-up in the mouth. We produced a silicone key for this, which served as a template for the mock-up in the patient's mouth for the dentist.
A thin glaze composition sealed the heat-resistant stumps. Afterwards the EFFECT LINER was applied as the first layer. The choice of shade was based on an individually produced shade sample.
Application of BASE DENTIN in fully-anatomic form, cut back of the BASE DENTIN to make space for the individual incisal edge design. Then design of the mamelon with MAMELON material and EFFECT CHROMA. Finally, before the first firing, layering of the veneer and crowns with a thin layer of WINDOW to achieve a better depth effect.
After the first firing, check of the form and additional application of EFFECT ENAMEL and mesial and distal EFFECT OPAL material for completion of the final form.

Slight characterization of the surfaces with VITA AKZENT Plus.
Then, the stump material is removed from the veneers and crowns with slight pressure using a sand blaster.
It has been made to achieve good aesthetic results in a thin layer thickness.
For the final finish, the veneers and crowns on the model are polished. The heat-resistant stump material is blasted, crowns and veneers on the master stumps are checked using a microscope and control paste.
How it looked straight after insertion. The fit and look in the mouth are identical to the model.
