12. Ceramic Symposium in Frankfurt on 10 November 2012

12th Ceramic Symposium in Frankfurt on 10 November 2012

Interdisciplinary ceramics: a broad spectrum of knowledge to guarantee success

Ceramic materials are becoming increasingly important for restoring teeth and reconstructing complex cases. A defect-oriented approach closes the gap between minimally invasive fillings and destructive crowns. Excellent aesthetic properties enable filigree reconstructions. New materials that offer outstanding mechanical properties and are bio-compatible are constantly expanding the range of therapy options offered by ceramics.

The central topic of this year's symposium will be the entire bandwidth of possible applications for ceramics in dentistry. They will be spotlighted from different angles in the various presentations: Conserving, prosthetic, parodontal, functional, material technology and implantology aspects that play a role in ceramic therapy will be discussed. At the same time, the devised solutions will be checked for implementability and suitability for practical applications.

A new approach is also being adopted in the field of knowledge transfer. The AG Keramik will present its new project: A "Ceramics Navigator" which will make our Ceramics Manual available online on the knowledge portal "owidi" as a free, up-to-date and interactive medium that is far more comprehensive than any e-book.
