Colleges for dental technicians from three countries at the IDS 2009
Students in dental technology from three countries presented their best works in a showcase at the VITA Zahnfabrik stand at the world’s largest dental fair IDS in Cologne. Information on the EU Comenius project was provided to interested visitors on a flat screen.
In the course of the project the apprentices jointly developed a manual describing the manufacturing of a faced crown that may be used in all three countries in the future. The excellent restorations made on the basis of the manual particularly appealed to the visitors.
The colleges for dental technicians based in Hagen (Germany), Baden near Vienna (Austria) and Prague (Czech Republic) participate in the Comenius project. The EU Comenius vocational colleges project promotes transnational cooperation between schools, teachers and students in three European countries, with an emphasis on intercultural dialog, comparing education systems and the practical aspects of a dental technician's work.
